An ecommerce conference to be held this April in Melbourne will tackle the strategies and insights retailers require to leverage what it calls
‘the mobile opportunity’.
Showcasing over 60 expert speakers
the upcoming eCommerce Conference and Expo will feature international speakers from high profile companies including NASA, Hyatt Hotels and Disney.
The conference will highlight PricewaterhouseCoopers research which
shows consumers are more willing than ever to use mobile devices for shopping.
PricwaterhouseCoopers’ 2013 Retail Trends Report
reveals more than 65 percent of Australians aged 15-65 own a smartphone and over a third of them shop while on the move.
The report claims the release of apps like Google Wallet and Apple’s Passbook have built consumer confidence to the point where users are far more willing to use their phone as a payment device.
With online shopping predicted to grow from $16 billion this year to $30 billion by 2016, the report argues retailers must start influencing shopping behaviour using tools such as Quick Response bar codes, ‘gamification’, geo-location and others to convert interest into sales.
The conference will
also offer 20 peer to peer Roundtable Discussions, four one-day summits focused on eTravel, eBanking, eGovernment and eMedia and three in-depth pre-conference workshops on Web Design & Usability, SEO & SMO, and eCommerce essentials.
Aurora Fashions Group Omni-Channel Director Ish Patel will explain how multi-channel options have changed consumer shopping behaviours and the new dynamics retailers must address to understand the new customer psyche.
Patel will also address the best ways to cross channel and blur the boundaries between physical and digital commerce.
A second speaker, SecretSales CEO Nish Kukadia will look at what it means to take a product-driven, mobile-first design and optimisation approach while Amblique’s Search Data and Insights Director Tim Griffin will discuss the implications of the mobile explosion on site.
Featuring a two day, multi-track conference aimed at anyone who is selling or wants to sell online, the conference will also provide free visitor access to the keynote presentations.
