Eaton finalises latest electrical equipment acquisition

Eaton has finalised its latest acquisition of an electrical equipment thermal monitoring solutions company

Intelligent power management company Eaton has announced it has finalised the acquisition of a UK based thermal monitoring solutions provider for electrical equipment.

Eaton has acquired the privately owned Exertherm, with the moment marking Eaton’s further expansion into continuous thermal monitoring.

“Exertherm is a company known for innovative technology and trusted solutions for data centres and other applications,” Eaton electrical sector president of the Americas region Mike Yelton says.

“We look forward to the opportunity to integrate thermal monitoring solutions more broadly into our Brightlayer software suites. This will enable our customers to optimise their operations and enhance business performance by realising the possibilities embedded in their data.”

For more than a decade, Exertherm has pioneered continuous temperature monitoring solutions, with their innovative solutions being integrated into low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, busway and motor control centres.

The globally deployed systems have consistently protected the most vital electrical infrastructure.

As an intelligent power management company dedicated to protecting the environment, Eaton will use the acquisition to make products for the data centre, utility, industrial, commercial, residential, transport and wider mobility markets.

Having been founded in 1911 and been listed on the New York Stock Exchange for more than a century, Eaton will continue to capitalise on the global growth trends of electrification and digitalisation.
