Easter travel restrictions announced for oversized vehicles and combinations

NatRoad has issued its annual reminder of Queensland travel restrictions for oversized vehicles and combinations

The National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) has announced reminders for oversize vehicle and combination travel restrictions over the Easter period in Queensland.

From the Thursday before Easter to the Tuesday after (April 7 to 10 inclusive), no oversize vehicles or combinations are allowed in Queensland unless it is provided an exemption.

NatRoad says exemptions to Easter travel restrictions for agricultural vehicles can be found in the National Class 1 Agricultural Vehicle and Combination Mass and Dimension Exemption Notice Operator’s Guide.

Other exemptions also allow oversize vehicles under notice or permit to be driven during the period in the Cooper Basin where travel is directly involved with Liquefied Natural Gas or mining activities.

Eligible special purpose vehicles (SPVs) will also be exempt from the general Easter travel restrictions, as well as Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicles, such as trucks transporting eligible cotton harvest or associated equipment, travelling to or from the Port of Brisbane or to other holding yards or bulk terminal wharves.

NatRoad reminds the industry that no movement is permitted in Queensland on Good Friday or Easter Monday.
