Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL) has announced the recipients of its 2024 Driving the Difference scholarships to Nellie White, Cinamon Bohr, Ashleigh Anderson, Emma Manton and Jo Tomaszewski.
The Driving the Difference scholarship is awarded in partnership with Daimler Truck Asia Pacific, and are presented to nominees who have undertaken a wide range of courses to continue their professional development across the transport, logistics and supply chain sector.
TWAL has congratulated not only the five winners of the scholarships, but the strength of nominees as a whole.
“Applicants are always of an extremely high standard and the choice of the final recipients a very debated and difficult one for the board,” TWAL released in a statement.
“The quality of the applicants is outstanding, and we remain committed to providing enduring support for these amazing women and encourage anyone who has missed receiving a scholarship with their first application to reapply as there is always the opportunity for success the following year.
“The candidates are very varied and shows the depth of talent in our industry. The recipients over the years have been from every state, but not yet from the NT or ACT, and all sectors – road transport, rail, maritime and manufacturing have been represented, but not yet, aviation.
“TWAL and Daimler are immensely proud to support women as female participation continues to grow within the industry.”
The five chosen candidates will be presented with their certificates and end of year functions in the city closest to them.
The five winners hail from Albury-Wodonga, Brisbane and Sydney.
“Being awarded the Driving the Difference scholarship means that those successful applicants can undertake study that might otherwise be out of reach to them,” TWAL continues.
“The recipients are also encouraged to participate in TWAL events and given networking and speaking opportunities to further broaden their experience and given exposure to leaders and mentors within the wider transport community.
“We encourage everyone who is eligible to apply for these scholarships in 2025 when they become available.”
