Kruse says customers have two additional weeks to return new access agreements
DP World Australia has extended the submission date for carrier access agreements (CAA) to July 14.
After coming under fire for giving its clients less than three days to submit the new agreements, the stevedore has not only extended the deadline, but also apologised for its short notice.
Last week, the company asked landside operators to return the new agreements before July 1, a move that did not go down well with Road Freight NSW (RFNSW), with GM Simon O’Hara demanding more time for carriers to review and understand the changes.
In a statement sent to DP World Australia customers today, COO Max Kruse has confirmed that customers who have yet to return their paperwork will continue to have access to its terminal for two additional weeks.
“We’re extending the deadline for returning Carrier Access Agreements (CAA) to Friday, 14 July,” Kruse says.
“We apologise for the short lead time in issuing the CAA last week.
“Carriers who have yet to return their paperwork will continue to have access to our terminals until 14 July.”
However, over 60 per cent of carriers have already returned their paperwork, Kruse says.
“Collectively the business has received a number of requests asking to extend our credit terms,” he says.
“We will be retaining our 14-day payment terms with invoices issued weekly.”
