The new facility will help train staff as the demand for trained logistics professionals increases
DHL recently opened a national training centre in Brisbane to train staff on its Certified International Specialist (CIS) program.
The company says the new facility will help train employees as the global demand for trained logistics professionals increases.
“Our CIS program is a key pillar in our mission to be an ‘Employer of Choice’,” DHL Express Global CEO Ken Allen says.
“Since launching CIS globally in 2010, we have won numerous ‘best in class’ awards from industry bodies.
“I am absolutely certain our customers also feel the impact through the enhanced service they are receiving from our certified international specialists – and this in turn assists with our ongoing business growth.”
The 145 square metre training facility will host participants from Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and the Pacific Islands.
Training sessions are expected to take place at least bi-monthly, with up to 30 participants attending each course for over a three-day period.
“The Brisbane CIS Centre of Excellence was specially designed to offer the best possible learning environment,” DHL Express Oceania senior VP Gary Edstein says.
“This includes a dedicated foyer and integrated technology as the training has a number of interactive components.
“We aim to instil a culture of balancing respect with results, which is a theme throughout CIS training modules.”
The CIS program consists of a foundation course and specialised modules for individual functions, such as sales and customer service and a world class leadership curriculum.
