DHL Australia announces first Reconciliation Action Plan

The plan from DHL Australia has been formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia

DHL Australia has announced the launch of its inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. DHL says the four DHL divisions across Australia; DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Supply Chain, and DHL eCommerce, are incredibly proud to embark on this reconciliation journey. 

DHL says the announcement will strengthens its commitment to playing a leading role in driving sustainability and leveraging core capabilities to make a lasting social impact. 

The company says its initial RAP marks the first step in DHL’s long-term commitment to better understand, engage and build meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, creating a more equitable and inclusive environment for tomorrow. 

DHL says it is committed to contributing to authentic change that respects and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures. DHL was proud to commission Indigenous artist Jake Simon, a proud Worimi – Biripi man, to create an artwork that reflects the culture and values of the DHL brand. DHL will use the artwork across its business assets in Australia.  

 “I believe that by educating ourselves and respectfully communicating and collaborating with the Elders and representatives of the indigenous communities we operate in, we can build strong relationships with our First Nations Peoples,” DHL Express Australia and Papua New Guinea managing director Phil Corcoran says. 

“By fostering those relationships and upholding those shared values, we will create a lasting impact that will enable a better future for ourselves and future generations.”

DHL Australia’s four CEOs; Phil Corcoran, George Lawson, Managing Director DHL Global Forwarding, Steve Thompsett, CEO, DHL Supply Chain, and Denise McGrouther, VP, Managing Director, DHL eCommerce, look forward to reflecting over the next 12 months to better understand the opportunities and relationships that will create positive impacts in local communities.
