DHL appoints new Chief Financial Officer

DHL has appointed Dennis Tan to head the company’s Asia Pacific finances

Logistics company DHL has appointed former DHL Controlling Programs and Costing Senior Vice President Dennis Tan to head DHL Express’s Asia Pacific finances.

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tan will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for all DHL Express finance in the Asia Pacific, including financial planning, controlling and internal control.

“The financial reporting market has changed significantly over the years and for an organization of DHL’s size and complexity, it is even more important to ensure that we are aligned with our financial goals,” Tan says.

Tan spent five years in the company’s Global headquarters in Bonn, first working in the Express business as the Global Express Controlling Senior Vice President and Head, before working as the Controlling Programs and Costing Senior Vice President.

According to DHL, he helped establish a global controlling function and improve finance frameworkalignment in .

Tan joined DHL in 1997 as a Regional Finance Manager for Southeast Asia.

In January 2006, he was the Chief Financial Officer of DHL Express Singapore

Tan will report to DHL Express Asia Pacific CEO Jerry Hsu, and Deutsche Post DHL Express Global Chief Financial Officer Melanie Kreis.
