The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) named the winners of its two technical awards in the 2024 National Industry and Trucking Award – the Castrol Industry Achievement Award and the Craig Rosender Award for Technical Maintenance and Excellence.
John Jenkin of Tatiara Truck & Trailers was named as this year’s recipient of the Craig Roseneder Award, and as part of the recognition he will receive a fully-paid trip to attend the 2025 US Technology and Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee next year.
Jenkin started Tatiara Truck & Trailer with his partner four decades ago in South Australia’s Bordertown and his since grown the workshop into a reputable organisation with 60 employees.

The business has attracted major dealers like Cat, Cummins, Detroit, Perkins, Volvo and Scania, and they serve as a Kenworth sub-dealer.
The team also operated a 24-houe breakdown service that covers a 400km radius,
Jenkin and his team have also been crucial in attracting a new generation of truck maintenance workers into the fold. He has built a training facility in collaboration with local schools, RTOs and government bodies in order to foster job prospects for local young people.
Callum Boyce of Bisitecniks was named as the 2024 Castrol Industry Achievement Award winner for his services to the heavy vehicle sector since the completion of his engineering degree at Federation University in 2014.
Boyce represented the ATA alongside former ATA Chief Engineer Bob Woodward at the recent Australian Standards Working Group assisting on the development of AS 2213-2022 and AS 4968-2023.
ATA Chair and former Craig Roseneder Award winner Dennis Roohan also announced the first four honorary life members of ITC during the evening, and presented the honour to Bob Woodward, Kel Baxter, Keith Mackinley and Lance Fisher.
