Retailer Cotton On Group has secured some 5,000 square metres of new warehouse accommodation in Brisbane.

The expanding clothing chain has signed a five-year lease on the Richlands site, in a deal negotiated by CB Richard Ellis’ Craig Wockner.

Wockner says Cotton On inspected a number of warehouses across Brisbane, before deciding on the property at 680 Boundary Road.

“Cotton On had been in the market for some time and had looked at a number of warehouses across Brisbane,” he says.

“They liked the way this warehouse was designed and the advantage of having two loading docks which greatly improved efficiencies.”

The complex is owned by giftware wholesaler MDI Australia, which is renting the surplus 4,996sqm capacity to Cotton On.

“Both MDI and Cotton On were extremely pleased with the outcome of the negotiations,” Wockner says.

Cotton On was established in 1991, and has more than 500 stores nationally.

Renowned for its on-trend clothing and fashion accessories, it has expanded its range to Cotton On Kids and Cotton On Body.

Introducing larger warehouses is only part of the company’s strategy, which includes increased jobs for local workers both in distribution centres and in retail stores across Australia.
