Heat transfer firm to compare Dura-Lite product performance in haulage firms' working trucks

COR Cooling is looking to two local trucking firms to field trial the charge air cooler it manufactures for Australia and New Zealand.
The heat transfer firm, which specialises in radiators and cooling for the mining and heavy haulage industries, makes the Dura-Lite charge air cooler. While it says it has complete confidence in the technology, it believes it must overcome scepticism about product claims from overseas that have yet to be exposed to domestic conditions.
“We know from the information our customers have given us that Dura-Lite not only reduces fuel consumption but also improves performance,” COR Cooling General Manager Claire Wilson says.
“Now it’s time to make the product really relevant to Australian drivers.
“What we plan to do is provide two charge air coolers into fleets and compare the performance of four trucks: two with Dura-Lite and two without, running the same distances with comparable freight and ideally the same drivers.
“We have agreed this with two prominent fleets including the Queensland-based Followmont Transport, which is very exciting.”
COR Cooling pitches the Dura-Lite product as a solution to welded products that may be prone to cracking due to thermal fatigue and vibration.
