A supply chain-centred topic list has been assembled for this year’s Queensland Construction and Equipment Expo
(ACE QLD 2012).
The seminar schedule for the three-day expo, held in Brisbane October 4-6, will include discussion on coastal shipping for interstate transport, over dimensional transport in Queensland, hazards of sourcing machinery overseas, and using tools like GPS for Work Health and Safety.
Exhibitions and Trade Fairs Event Manager Maureen says the free walk in seminars will be presented by industry leaders and professionals, including Construction Mining and Equipment Industry Group (CMEIG) President Andrew Moir.
Ryan says the expo will also cover apprenticeships, training and recruitment.
“It is important that we support the industry,” she says.
“The current market is extremely tough, and we aim to do what we can to make sure we provide a helpful community, where those looking for employment and those looking to recruit can meet on equal ground.”
Queensland Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney will open the event on October 4 at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds.
“Having such a prominent member of the State Government participating in the show demonstrates the Premier’s office sees this expo as an important platform for the industry in Queensland,” Ryan says.
Exhibitors to occupy the 9,000sq m indoor and outdoor exhibition space at the expo include Hitachi Construction Machinery, Hastings Deering and Komatsu.
