Connected fleet technology drives Geotab past five million vehicles

Global telematics leader Geotab has surpassed five million connected vehicles, highlighting the growing role of connected fleet technology in logistics.

Geotab has reached a new global milestone, surpassing five million connected vehicle subscriptions, as the company marks 25 years of innovation in connected fleet technology.

The achievement solidifies Geotab’s position as a global leader in fleet telematics, driven by the rapid adoption of data-driven solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability for freight and logistics operators.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Neil Cawse says the company’s growth reflects how technology and data are transforming fleet operations.

“Geotab’s journey is about relentless innovation, and with 630 global patents, we have made a significant impact on the industry over the last 25 years,” Cawse says.

He says the milestone demonstrates the real-world benefits of intelligent fleet management.

“This five-million-vehicle milestone proves that our data-driven approach to fleet management is solving real-world challenges faced by businesses daily. With the rapid adoption of AI, we expect the next five years to be as transformative as the last 25.”

Geotab’s connected fleet technology helps reduce downtime, improve safety and cut costs through more innovative route planning. The company’s global network produces more than 100 billion data points every day. That’s fuel for the AI and machine learning models that support predictive maintenance and operational insights across fleets of all sizes.

Backed by a 2,900-strong workforce and an ecosystem of over 700 partners, Geotab has expanded its open platform over the past decade, providing customers with access to nearly 530 third-party fleet management solutions through the Geotab Marketplace.

Cawse says the company’s data-centric approach has positioned it to lead in the next era of fleet innovation. “Our focus on data accuracy and actionable insights means operators can make smarter, faster decisions that save fuel, cut emissions and keep drivers safe.”
