Slight rise on previous month and previous August as level appears to settle
Commercial vehicle sales remain listless, with the 2,729 units total for August up only 75 units on July’s figure and 177 up on August 2014.
At 844, heavy duty truck sales barely moved for either comparative month, with no savage shifts either way amongst the makes, Truck Industry Council statistics show.
The medium-duty sector made it 12 units above the 600 mark, which is promising given previous poor outcomes and that it made up ground on the year high in June of 657 after falling to 580.
At 804, light-duty trucks managed their fourth consecutive month above the 800 level, though still not near the year high of 1,047 but still better than August last year’s 769.
After three months of sales above 200, Hino’s light-duty run braked with 166 units sold.
Amongst vans, the mid-year hump that peaked in June with 662 subsided to 469.
