The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA) is set to host its first Brisbane forum next month on the impending roll-out of logistics safety standards.
As part of the Construction Logistics and Community Safety Australia (CLOCS-A) national good practice standards introduction, CILTA will host a major forum at Mount Cotton in Brisbane on April 15.
The CLOCS-A roll-out aligns with the national and four state’s Road Safety Action Plans, with display trucks operating CLOCS-A required technologies to be displayed at the RACQ Centre.
The latest forum in Brisbane follows recent major CLOCS-A workshops that have been held in Melbourne and Sydney, with local operators encouraged to attend, especially due to the fact Brisbane will host the Olympics in 2032.
“The London Olympics in 2012 were the catalyst for the creation of the Construction Logistics Community Safety (CLOCS) standard. This standard was then adopted and transformed into the Australian CLOCS-A standard and with the implementation beginning in July 2023,” CILTA national chair education and professional development Dr Kim Hassall says.
