Charlesworth takes the reins at Border Express

New CEO offers wealth of last-mile experience, company notes

Border Express has appointed David Charlesworth as its new chief executive officer.

Charlesworth is elevated to the role having joined the Luff family entity in April 2021 as executive general manager – projects and transformation.

He spent the last 17 years at TNT Australia in various roles, including as strategy and transformation director and customer experience and demand director.

Border Express welcomed the “highly experienced transport executive”.

“David came to Border Express with executive experience across transformation, strategy, operations, and customer experience at a global transport group,” the company said.

“David brings a wealth of last mile express experience supported by operational and asset utilisation.

“The Board is excited about the next phase of our journey which will be led by David.

“Border Express will continue to make positive changes in a dynamic market environment where transport experience and knowledge will be paramount.”

Charlesworth steps in for interim CEO Ozan Kara, following the departure of Mostafa Kassaby earlier this year.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ozan Kara for stepping into the role in an acting capacity over the past 6 months,” the company said.

“His efforts with the broader management team have positioned the business strongly to take on the challenges of the 2022 year.”
