Supply chain management company CEVA Logistics has inked a first-time sea freight deal with Heinz Company

CEVA Logistics says the five year contract represents the first time a shipper with an annual volume of 60,000 TEUs has ever entrusted one single logistics provider with exclusive management of its ocean freight.

“In a strategy led by its global procurement organisation, the agreement will significantly reduce complexity for Heinz,” CEVA says in a statement.

“It will also enhance supply chain visibility while reducing cost.”

CEVA adds the contract reflects the company’s strategic priority to push for strong growth in ocean freight.
