New Melbourne 'super site' just one of a number of property developments on the logistics company’s 'to do' list
Automotive supply chain specialist CEVA Logistics has announced plans for a 166,000 square-metre “super site” west of Melbourne.
The company says the development in Truganina will provide a centrepiece for its growth plans across Australia and New Zealand.
“Our new Truganina ‘super site’ builds on a range of other property developments we have underway in both countries,” CEVA’s managing director in Australia and New Zealand Casey Fisher says.
The multiuser facility will feature four separate warehouses, built with the industrial, automotive, and consumer retail sectors in mind.
Fisher says the location – close to the Western Ring Road – will give customers easy access to Melbourne’s road and rail network as well as the Port of Melbourne and Tullamarine Airport.
In addition to the Melbourne facility, CEVA is adding to its property network in Brisbane, Auckland, and Perth.
The 30,000 sqm car-carrying and international freight management site at Pinkenba, beside Brisbane Airport, is almost complete, Fisher says, while a 5,500 sqm extension to the existing Auckland facility is also under construction.
CEVA is also constructing a 34,000 square-metre contract logistics and international freight facility at Hazelmore in Perth’s eastern suburbs.
“Plans are at an advanced stage to build a bespoke car carrying facility, also in WA,” Fisher says.
He did not indicate a specific timetable for the construction of the new Melbourne facility.
