CEVA Logistics selects new Australasian chief from European rival

Supply chain solutions company CEVA logistics has unveiled its new Australia and New Zealand managing director, announcing the appointment of Carlos Velez Rodriguez overnight.

According to the company, Rodriguez will report to CEVA Logistics’ CEO Zavier Urbain directly and oversee all operations in the region from a base in Melbourne.

A Colombian-born Austrian citizen, the new regional MD joins CEVA from FM Logistic, where he oversaw 5,000 employees for a decade as the group managing director of Central Europe.

He has also held roles in the US, Latin America and across Europe.

“I am delighted to have someone of Carlos’s caliber to lead our operations in Australia & New Zealand,” Urbain says.

“His extensive industry knowledge, experience in leading large organizations and his collaborative style make him an excellent successor for this critical role in this important cluster.”

The appointment is effective immediately.
