As part of an ongoing partnership with Saltera, leading logistics service company Centurion has celebrated the graduation of nine new Certificate III graduates at its Mackay branch.
The program not only offers graduates the opportunity to complete the Certificate III in Supply Operations and the Certificate III in Transport and Logistics, but also gives them the opportunity to gain invaluable hands on experience in critical logistics environments, providing them with practical industry knowledge and real-life skills.
In collaboration with the Saltera team, which specialises in industry training, the program has led to the employment of 40 graduates in the Mackay branch who have all completed Certificate III level traineeships.
Jodie Van Sluys, Centurion’s Mackay branch operations manager, says the effectiveness of the program and the valuable contribution of the Saltera training team, who have been devoted supporters to the program over the years, have been key to the program’s success.
“Ian’s dedication to working individually with all our students, irrespective of their educational background or learning pace, reflects his profound understanding of our company’s diverse workforce,” Van Sluys says.
The completion of the program also brings industry wide recognition and Van Sluys says it qualifies individuals for more advanced roles, ultimately encouraging career growth.
By exposing participants to industry knowledge, they are expected to become aware of the specific technologies and practices, enhancing their understanding of the sector and becoming more familiar with emerging trends.
Van Sluys says equipping those who secure a place on the program with this level of insight should prepare ideal candidates for potential leadership roles, paving the way for continued growth within the transportation and logistics sector.
Since 2021, the program has successfully guided 45 graduates through the certification, underscoring the commitment of both Centurion and Saltera in future-proofing the workforce through quality training.
