Centurion Transport celebrates graduates of Certificate III program

Centurion has credited Saltera Training for helping deliver nine more graduates ready for transport and logistics jobs

Australian logistics and transport company Centurion Transport has celebrated the recent graduation of nine students from its Certificate III program in Mackay.

The program has now guided 45 graduates and has resulted in 40 new employees at its Mackay operations since commencing in October 2021.

Centurion Mackay branch operations manager Jodie Van Sluys says the contribution from training centre Saltera Training has helped support the program over the years.

“Ian Birkett’s dedication to working individually with all our students, irrespective of their educational background or learning pace, reflects his profound understanding of our company’s diverse workforce,” Van Sluys says.

“The exceptional quality of training provided on-site, tailored to our operations by trainer Ian alongside the seamless coordination and collaboration from the broader Saltera team, has been exemplary.

“This success has led to the expansion of Saltera’s delivery of traineeships to other Centurion branches in Queensland without hesitation.”

Centurion’s Certificate III in Supply Operations is a foundational program that aims to equip participants with a solid understanding of logistics processes, supply chain management and road transport regulations while preparing them for entry-level roles in the industry.

Centurion says the program equips graduates with a broad range of skills applicable across various roles in the transport and logistics sector while also exposing them to industry-specific technologies.

Centurion’s Certificate III in Transport and Logistics (Driver and Supply Operations) also aims to equip graduates with the necessary skills to oversee teams and operations effectively.

The certificate builds on Centurion’s Certificate II program and looks to enable graduates to tackle complex operational challenges. Centurion says graduation from the certificate also qualifies individuals for more advanced roles in the industry.

Centurion says the achievements of the graduates underscores the commitment of both Centurion and Saltera to future-proof the transport industry workforce through quality training and paves the way for continued growth and success within the transport and logistics sector.
