One of Caterpillar’s United States-based driver trainers is in Australia to meet with Australian drivers and train them in getting the best from the new range of ACERT Technology engines.
Ken Nolte has over 30 years experience as an owner-operator and driver and is currently part of the Caterpillar Global On-Highway Team.
“Our job is simple: to make sure every operator and driver fully understands how to get the best out of ACERT and add value to the business’s bottom line,” Nolte says.
“We can teach drivers the skills that will really make a difference to trip time, comfort and fuel economy.”
Nolte is travelling around Australia talking with key groups of drivers and fleet driver trainers. He will also be on the Caterpillar stand at Trucks in Action in Warrigul on February 15-17.
“You have some unique conditions with extreme heat and larger loads than we carry in the US,” he says, “but we have already proven ACERT in pretty extreme conditions in our own backyard.
“The technology performs brilliantly and gives bang for the buck, as long as the engine is driven the right way. It’s my job to make sure drivers understand that.”
