Technology firm CargoWise has swooped on specialist transport and logistics software provider TransLogix to expand its service offering.
CargoWise, which provides freight forwarding software, says the purchase means it can now offer an integrated tracking service. TransLogix provides software covering road, rail and warehouse management.
In announcing the takeover, the company says the move will allow it to increase its research and development investment and accelerate the creation of new software services.
“This is a critical and significant step in our growth plans,” CargoWise CEO Richard White says.
“The addition of the TransLogix domestic transport software skills to our platform will not only boost our business, it will give customers all aspects of freight operations door to door, road, rail, air and sea and across borders from a single global vendor.”
CargoWise says TransLogix founder and CEO Anselm Waterfield will assist in the transition of the business to its new owners.
“As part of CargoWise, we will be able to extend and invest extensively to meet our customers’ needs with a new, leading-edge platform and technology,” Waterfield says.
