NSW Centre for Road Safety's video puts focus on safety around trucks
As part of the NSW Road Safety ‘Be Truck Aware’ campaign, a video has been released showing motorists and the general public just how large truck blind spots can be.
And it is proving popular.
The Be Truck Aware campaign is focused on encouraging extra care around trucks with the increased construction work across Greater Metropolitan Sydney resulting in an increase in heavy vehicles on the roads.
The video puts three motorists, with a combined driving experience of more than 40 years, in the cab where they are asked if it’s safe to take off.
All three drivers got a bit of a shock when they discovered what was in their blind spots, after thinking they were all clear…
The video has been viewed over 211,000 times so far on its facebook site, making it the fifth most popular item there.
ATN has sought more information about the campaign, including details about the video message from the NSW Centre of Road Safety.
