Brown and Watson launches environmental test laboratory

Lighting and component supplier opens new lab to ensure new product releases meet the needs of Australian operators

April 2, 2012

Lighting and component supplier Brown and Watson International has commissioned its new environmental laboratory at its Melbourne headquarters to ensure new product releases meet the needs of Australian operators.

The new laboratory is equipped with latest generation test rigs including a high-low humidity test chamber, thermal shock test chamber, rain simulation chamber and a dust test chamber.

The company says the features are designed to exceed the stringent tests required by international vehicle and equipment manufacturers.

Brown and Watson says tests on temperature performance, condensation and material durability will be carried out to develop long term durability and reliability.

The laboratory will check solder joint durability, adhesive bonding, rain and dust exposure, shock and impact durability and simulated car wash exposure.

Brown and Watson says the laboratory complements the existing photometric and optical laboratory.
