CVIAQ will return to its roots in 2011 by holding a truck-only show, dumping the machinery displays

The organiser of the Brisbane Truck and Machinery Show will return to its roots in 2011 by running a truck-only event and dumping machinery displays.
The Brisbane Truck and Machinery Show will be renamed the Brisbane Truck Show from next year.
The Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) will run the event from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre instead of the larger RNA Showgrounds.
The smaller space means there is not enough room for the machinery display outside the main halls, and the decision was made to return the show to its roots as a truck-only show.
“We acknowledge and thank the Construction Mining Equipment Industry Group (CMEIG) for their support over the last 20 years however the time has come for the show to go back to its roots,” CVIAQ President Bob Martin says.
The CVIAQ says the Brisbane Convention Centre will allow all truck manufacturers to be in the same hall rather than spread across various displays.
CVIAQ CEO Brett Wright says the move to the Convention Centre will enhance the show’s performance and cement it as the premier trucking event in the southern hemisphere.
The venue change became necessary with the redevelopment of the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds, the home of the show for many years.
