A search is on for a new Port of Melbourne Corporation CEO after Stephen Bradford announced his retirement
September 18, 2013
Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) CEO Stephen Bradford will retire this year after nine years in the position.
He has guided the port through the completion of the channel deepening project and has overseen trade growth.
Bradford is leaving to spend more time with his family and work in non-executive roles.
Victorian Ports Minister David Hodgett says Bradford has helped secure Victoria’s status as the nation’s freight and logistics capital.
“I join the port’s customers and community stakeholders in thanking Stephen for his great leadership and integrity in shaping the busiest container and automotive trade hub in Australia to deliver economic benefits for both now and in the future,” Hodgett says.
“Stephen has made an enormous contribution to the port and logistics industry and I wish him well in his retirement.”
The Port of Melbourne board has appointed search firm Russell Reynolds Associates to replace Bradford, Chairman Mark Birrell says.
“The board has commenced its search to secure a high calibre executive to lead the organisation in the next stage of its development, including the delivery of the port capacity project,” Birrell says.
“Stephen can rightly be proud of his considerable achievements and on behalf of the board I thank him for his dedicated service to PoMC and the wider Victorian community.”
