BLK secures first JAC sale to All Purpose Transport

Importer and distributor hails milestone local EV delivery

Queensland operator All Purpose Transport (APT) is the recipient of BLK Auto’s first N55 JAC EV truck sold locally.

The Queensland-based vehicle importer and distributor announced the first Australian sale of its electric vehicle, which will be put to work for home deliveries for Swedish homewares giant Ikea.

The N55, which runs on a lithium battery and is capable of up to 200km range on a single charge, makes it suitable for daily citywide deliveries and overnight charging.

APT is a contracted delivery provider that undertakes home deliveries for Ikea, amongst others, across Queensland.

It will use the truck to perform home deliveries operating a ‘back to base’ model, allowing overnight charging for a full day’s worth of deliveries.

The unit is expected to be delivered to APT in October and will be immediately deployed in APT’s fleet.

The sale represents BLK Auto’s official entry into the Australian EV sector, targeting transport and logistics as a primary sector for transitioning from traditional fuel fleets to renewable energies.

“We’re extremely pleased to have closed our first EV truck sale to APT for the Ikea service, and to be an integral part of what could become a major transition for one of the world’s most iconic furniture brands,” BLK Auto managing director Jason Pecotic said.

“With global emission reduction and carbon footprint targets now moving into the enactment phase, we see the Australia and New Zealand transport markets as key industries that can readily adapt to this change by making the investment in EV fleets.

“It is pleasing to see progressive companies such as IKEA taking that first step in Australia.

“We stand ready to supply our vehicles to companies looking to make these necessary investments.”
