Appointment signals domestic and international expansion opportunities
Resources logistics firm Bis is signalling its growth intent with the launch of a new strategy and development portfolio headed by mining technology and operations executive Todd Peate.
Peate joins from Orica after 10 years at the commercial explosives company, where he held strategic and operational roles including president director of Indonesia, vice president of global marketing and, most recently, vice president Australia Pacific.
Peate’s responsibilities include the delivery of Bis’ innovation pipeline, business development and corporate development activities, and corporate affairs and marketing.
His appointment is set to further strengthen Bis’ focus on expansion in domestic and international markets.
Bis recently announced the production of a second Rexx truck
CEO Brad Rogers says the appointment comes at an important time for the company, as it continues to focus on converting its large opportunity pipeline and launching disruptive patented products and services to the mineral resources industry.
“Todd joining the business will open up even greater opportunities for expansion to new markets and geographies, for step-out innovations as well as building on the existing momentum we’ve generated in the resource logistics space, through proprietary products such as Rexx and Razor,” Rogers says.
“I’m excited for what’s coming next at Bis and our strategy and development team will play a large role in shaping this.”
Peate joins the firm’s five-person leadership team which includes Rogers, COO Michael Porter, chief people officer Karen Bradshaw and director of operational services and sustainability Scott Beckwith.
“What Bis has been doing recently in the mining innovation and customer-led solutions space is nothing short of exceptional,” Peate says.
“Finessing our existing programme of patented solutions, as well as forging a new pipeline of step-out customer innovation opportunities is what I’m particularly excited about. Put simply, I’m passionate about solving problems for customers.”
