Bentley Quarry takes delivery of MaxiTRANS trailer combination

Bentley Quarry says its newest trailer has helped meet the needs of its freight operations

Family-operated quarry company Bentley Quarry has taken delivery of a new Hamelex White truck body and a four-axle dog tipper combination from MaxiTRANS.

The unit has already been deployed into Bentley Quarry’s fleet and is supplying quarry products throughout New South Wales between Tweed Heads, Tamworth and Warriewood.

MaxiTRANS says the truck has delivered a significant boost to the fleet’s operating capabilities due to its performance-based standards (PBS) specifications.

Bentley Quarry owner Rob McKenzie says adding the tipper to its fleet has been a good choice for its freight operations.

“We went out to purchase two new Mack Tridents and needed bins, and MaxiTRANS could get the job done in the timeframe that we needed,” McKenzie says.

“We’ve been using their Hamelex White rigid bodies for more than two years, and they’ve always supplied a good product.”

The truck and dog trailer has been set up as a 19-metre combination under PBS guidelines and comes with extra features, including rock sheeting on the sides and tailgate, a retractable tarp and airbag suspension on the dog trailer.

MaxiTRANS says its PBS specialists worked closely with Bentley Quarry to design the combination that aims to maximise the total payload and deliver greater efficiency for the whole combination.

McKenzie says MaxiTRANS local dealer, Trailer Sales, were also helpful through the entire process.

“It was a teamed-up effort between them and Southside Truck Centre in Lismore, and it just made the whole process much easier,” McKenzie says.

Trailer Sales bulk equipment sales specialist Roger Miller says McKenzie was great to deal with and helped give him knowledge on the company’s needs.

“Our business prides itself on understanding our customer’s needs first before recommending a solution that’s going to deliver the best returns suited to their specific freight task,” Miller says.

“With local parts and servicing support, we believe in building long term partnerships with customers.

“As a partner to the transport industry, we want to help ensure our customers are getting the best returns from their equipment and that we are here to deliver ongoing support whenever it’s needed.”
