Australian sites key to Toll’s $100 million upgrades

Toll Group will invest $100 million into a variety of healthcare sites to improve its supply chain capability in the APAC region

Toll Group has announced it is set to invest a further $100 million into the healthcare sector across Asia Pacific to enhance supply chain capability and provide scalability across the region.

Key initiatives included in the funding are the construction of several healthcare facilities, including a state-of-the-are centre in Melbourne for CSL Seqirus, and a new facility in Richlands, Queensland for vaccine distribution.

Toll Group is also set to open a facility in Hazelmere, Western Australia by mid-2025.

Toll’s Chief Enterprise Officer Anna Green says the investment will promote the creation of hundreds of jobs and a strengthened supply chain across Australia and the wider APAC region.

“We anticipate this investment will generate hundreds of new jobs in Australia and Asia, Green says. “In Australia, around 130 healthcare jobs have been added to Toll’s existing 6000-plus strong workforce, which is expected to grow as further investments in property and technologies are made.

“This initiative will not only enhance our supply chain capabilities, but also strengthen local economies by boosting digital and healthcare skills.”

In addition to the construction and upgrade of facilities at key Australian sites, Toll’s APAC strength is also set to be bolstered by the further upgrade of its flagship facility – Toll City – in Singapore.

The one million square-foot facility currently supports over 100 customers’ warehouse and transport needs. The expansion of Toll City, along with the construction of a new site at Port Klang, Malaysia, will add another 246,000 square feet of warehouse space.

“Companies partnering with Toll can leverage our extensive multi-modal network, cold chain storage, delivery services and solutions for hospitals, healthcare providers and patients,” Toll Group’s Head of Healthcare Vertical Sugantha Natarajan says.

“Our existing healthcare facilities in China and India further strengthen this strategic network for faster, more reliable and efficient transportation and storage solutions.”
