Australian logistics duo acquired by American giant

OIA Global has confirmed the strategic acquisition of BTi Logistics and Airmark Ocean & Air Logistics, pending regulatory approval

American logistics company OIA Global has broadened its footprint in Australia and New Zealand with the acquisition of two Australian logistics businesses.

The company has announced the strategic acquisitions of BTi Logistics and Airmark Ocean & Air Logistics. The companies have over 35 years of experience in the sector and are praised by OIA Global as being “recognised leaders in the freight forwarding industry, renowned for delivering excellence in logistics”.

BTi Logistics has expanded OIA Global’s automotive and mobility, energy and industrial markets in the region, while Airmark Ocean & Air Logistics will provide it with specialised knowledge in aviation, healthcare and industrial logistics.

OIA Global CFO Youssef Annali says the two new acquisitions follow OIA Global’s wider international growth strategy.

“These strategic acquisitions align well with OIA’s inorganic growth strategy focused on expanding our global network,” Annali says.

“Both acquisitions add deep expertise and longstanding customer relationships, complementing our vertical growth strategy in automotive, aerospace and healthcare.”

Managing Director of BTi Logistics Michael Parakh says the new partnership with OIA Global will help his company continue to progress its own ambitions.

“Joining forces with OIA Global marks a significant milestone in BTi’s longstanding journey of customer service excellence and innovation,” Parakh says.

“This partnership honours our legacy while creating exciting new opportunities for growth.

“We’re confident our shared values and combined expertise will drive even greater success.”

Completion of the acquisitions will occur subsequent to all necessary approvals being obtained.

Until those approvals have been obtained, OIA Global, BTi Logistics and Airmark Ocean & Air Logistics will maintain independent operations.

OIA Global was founded in 1988 and currently operates in over 60 offices across 29 countries worldwide. It is headquartered in Portland, USA and is privately owned by LDI, Ltd.

BTi Logistics operates across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Auckland and Singapore and offers services including freight forwarding, customs brokerage, 3PL warehousing, distribution and supply chain management.
