The race to reduce CO2 emissions by 2030 has driven an innovative collaboration between clean energy company Pure Hydrogen and building materials manufacturer Heidelberg Materials Australia.
In a statement released to the Australian Stock Exchange on March 11 Pure Hydrogen announced it had received a purchase order for the delivery of a hydrogen fuel cell concrete agitator truck, described as one of the first in the world.
Delivery of the T30-200 30-tonne truck is expected to occur by Q4 this year.
The vehicle, developed by HDrive International has a range of over 200km and a top speed of 100km/h.
Heidelberg Materials Australia chief executive Phil Schacht says the purchase is in line with the company’s long term strategy.
“Heidelberg Materials’ Sustainability Commitments 2030 form the basis our sustainability initiatives, including a focus on CO2 emission reductions,” Schacht says.
“We are committed to driving operational excellence and innovation across all aspects of our product life cycles, including the delivery of products to our customers.
“This trial of hydrogen fuelled agitator trucks has the potential to reduce our transport related emissions and provide valuable insights into the feasibility of integrating such technology into our fleet management.”
Pure Hydrogen’s managing director Scott Brown says the order was a positive step forward for sustainable transport solutions.
“This collaboration reflects Heidelberg Materials’ dedication to integrating innovative, zero-emission technology into their operations as part of their broader sustainability strategy,” Brown says.
“The T30-200 hydrogen fuel cell truck is a powerful example of how we are reshaping the heavy-duty transport sector, offering a future-proof solution that combines advanced technology, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency.
“We look forward to delivering this ground breaking vehicle and continuing to expand our footprint.”
The March 11 announcement is the second big piece of news for Pure Hydrogen this year.
On January 23 it announced to the ASX that it has signed an agreement with TOLL Transport to provide two Taurus 70t HFC prime movers by the end of 2025.
