The Australia-Singapore Low-Emissions Technologies (ASLET) initiative for maritime and port operations will support the establishing of green and digital shipping corridors between the two countries by the end of 2025 according to Australia’s CSIRO.
Both Singapore and Australia have committed up to $10 million in their respective currencies towards the program, which is set to support the push to a zero and near-zero emissions future while delivering economic benefit to both nations.
ASLET will provide grant funding to support applied research, pilot and demonstration projects that will contribute to reduced costs, increased safety and accelerated uptake of low-emissions technology in the sector.
For Australian lead applicants, grants can range from AU$500,000 to AU$3 million and will be up to a maximum 50 per cent of eligible project expenditure.
The program is co-delivered by the CSIRO and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and is supported by both nations’ federal governments.
