Australia Post Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour to address the QUT Business Leaders' Forum in Brisbane next month
February 21, 2011
Australia Post Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour will address the first QUT Business Leaders’ Forum for 2011, to be held in Brisbane next month.
As one of Australia’s most prominent CEOs, Ahmed Fahour was appointed managing director and CEO of Australia Post in February 2010.
He brings to this role extensive experience as a successful leader and dynamic reformer at corporations nationally and internationally.
Fahour served as Citigroup’s CEO for Australia and New Zealand before joining the National Australia Bank in 2004 as an executive director and Australian CEO.
His leadership in building the brand culture and service proposition at NAB resulted in a major turnaround in performance.
In early 2009, Fahour left the NAB and after a period as CEO at Gulf Finance House in Bahrain, he returned to Melbourne to take up the chief executive role for Australia Post.
As CEO, he is confronting one of the biggest challenges of his stellar career in moving its traditional mail business into the digital world to compete with the massive growth in mobile phone and email messaging and the social media revolution.
Fahour will outline his strategy to transform Australia Post into a more customer-focused business and share his personal experiences including the leadership style and practices that work for him.
Leading Australian journalist Kerry O’Brien will again bring his well recognised experience as moderator to this event.
The forum will be held on March 2 at Brisbane’s Hilton Hotel.
