ATA's travelling exhibition, the Road Ahead, has been recognised for improving safety and promoting the trucking industry

November 4, 2010

The Australian Trucking Association’s (ATA) Road Ahead exhibition has been recognised for improving road safety and promoting the trucking industry.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA ) presented the ATA with the Transport and Logistics Industry Excellence in Community Service Award for the program.

The Road Ahead is a state-of-the-art semitrailer fitted with interactive displays to teach schoolchildren about sharing the road safely with trucks and the careers available in transport and logistics.

In handing the ATA the award, the judges congratulated the group on making a difference to students’ perceptions of the industry.

ATA CEO Stuart St Clair labelled the award a great honour and says the Road Ahead will continue to educate and inform students across Australia.

“The ATA and its members know the value of the program and to receive an award for its work across is recognition that it is making a real difference to road safety and the industry,” St Clair says.
