ATA praises outgoing Paccar boss

Peak lobby group pays tribute to departing Paccar Australia Managing Director Joe Rizzo

January 24, 2013

Trucking’s peak lobby group has paid tribute to the departing Paccar Australia Managing Director Joe Rizzo, who is leaving in March after 35 years with the brand.

The company sponsors the ATA and is involved in the running of the association, and ATA CEO Stuart St Clair says Paccar has made an invaluable contribution under Rizzo’s leadership.

“The involvement of Paccar Australia and its dealers in our general council and policy committees has led to better results for the industry on a host of issues,” St Clair says.

“We are deeply indebted to Joe for his understanding of the importance of Paccar’s continued support for the ATA.”

Paccar sponsors the ATA’s annual technical and maintenance event and the Legends Luncheon at the annual Australian Trucking Convention.

“Kenworth trucks hold a special place in the hearts of many Australian truck drivers and company owners. Joe’s support for our yearly Kenworth Legends Luncheon – where industry legends talk about their trucks and experiences – just shows his understanding of the industry,” ATA Chairman David Simon says.
