ATA fundraising equipment tender kicks off

Volvo prime mover, CIMC trailers and Thermo King fridge units up for sale.

The Australian Trucking Association has launched its tender sales process for 2014.

Buyers have the opportunity to purchase a new Volvo FH540 prime mover, CIMC B-double trailer set and two Thermo King fridge units.

“The proceeds of these sales goes to support safety research and the ATA’s campaigns to improve the safety, professionalism and viability of the Australian trucking industry,” the ATA says.

“Volvo Trucks Australia offer for sale by tender a new Volvo FH540 prime mover featuring the safety, performance, reliability and comfort that has seen the Volvo FH series increasingly dominate Australia’s linehaul routes.”

Meanwhile CIMC Trailers is offering a “superbly versatile” flat deck curtain-sider B-double trailer set.

Thermo King began supplying fridge units to support the ATA since 1996.

This year the refrigeration specialist is offering a 75th anniversary painted Precedent unit and the SB330 taken from the ATA Safety Truck.

“Please consider making a bid,” the ATA urges.

“You’ll not only help the industry, but you could get a great deal as well.”

The ATA says bid amounts will not be disclosed but the successful bidders will be announced after the tender is finished.

The ATA will fly the successful bidders to Hamilton Island to participate in Trucking Australia 2014, the ATA’s national conference held in June.

More details are on the ATA’s website.
