Asixa goes digital to speed-up notification process

New software provides instant updates on consignment deliveries.

Freight operator Asixa has introduced a new proof-of-delivery software to provide its customers with instant updates on consignment deliveries.

The specialist country freight transporter worked with IT provider CMS Transport Systems for two years on the development of the sign-on-glass software, called Freight2020 Mobile.

It can be uploaded to any Apple device to provide rapid delivery confirmations to Asixa customers.

The company decided to head down the digital path to do away with paper consignment notes and traditionally slow notification processes.

“Because our specialty lies in providing cost-effective and reliable service to remote parts of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia, one of our longstanding challenges is getting paper consignment notes back to our head office in Melbourne for processing,” Asixa CEO Simone Turner says.

“This new service will now make life easier for our customers, letting them see their confirmation of delivery with the click of a button.

“We’ve already put the service in place for our direct lines into regional centres and the benefits to our business are already showing.”

Freight2020 Mobile is an extension of CMS’s online consignment booking and management system, and is being spruced as a cost-effective alternative to the introduction of tracking software and specialist handheld devices.

“This new software will not only adapt to any off-the-shelf tablet with internet connectivity, but the Freight 2020 online portal where all delivery alerts are logged can also be accessed from any web-enabled computer or mobile device,” CMS general manager Grant Walmsley says.

CMS is currently developing software to work on Android devices.
