Bonnie Rock Transport gains energy waste transport contract
Busy international energy logistics firm ASCO Group has seen its local trucking arm pick up a Western Australian waste transport deal.
ASCO’s majority-owned Bonnie Rock Transport will take waste generated by the oil and gas industry from waste management firm Toxfree’s Karratha depot and transport it to Perth using double and triple road trains, before distribution to metropolitan recycling and waste facilities.
ASCO Australasia CEO Matt Thomas says the long-term contract “underpins ASCO’s organic growth strategy” since the company acquired Perth-based Bonnie Rock Transport last May.
“Toxfree is one of Australia’s leading integrated waste management and industrial service providers,” Thomas adds.
“For ASCO, this is an important win and a great boost to the Bonnie Rock business.”
Bonnie Rock Transport general manager Ron Currie said the team has hit the ground running to clear a large shipment of waste from Toxfree’s Karratha facility.
“We were able to mobilise quickly to get the job done safely,” Currie says.
The Toxfree contract win follows the recent deal to manage BP’s Adelaide supply base for the planned Great Australian Bight drilling program.
