Oversight body seen as right blend of experience and new blood
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has confirmed the election of a new committee to oversee the management and operations of the Australian Road Transport Industrial Organisation (ARTIO) NSW Branch, the branch reports.
The AEC has confirmed the following as members of the ARTIO NSW Committee:
- Laurie D’Apice, Linfox Logistics, president
- Linda Lewis, Micway Transport, vice-president
- Cameron Murphy, Murphy Transport Solutions, vice-president
- John West, John West Logistics, committee member
- Norm McCormack, Automotive Holdings Group, committee member
- Hugh McMaster, secretary/treasurer.
“Collectively, the new committee has extensive experience in understanding the needs and expectations of ARTIO NSW members and in the management of an industry association,” McMaster says.
“The committee has an appropriate blend of committee-level experience and new talent.”

McMaster says good progress is being made in the development of an ARTIO NSW work program for this year.
“We have also introduced new services to add value to ARTIO NSW membership with others under development,” he adds.
“I want take this opportunity to thank Gaylynne Neill and Mark Wintle, who served on the committee in the outgoing four-year term for their respective contributions to the growth and development of ARTIO NSW as an organisation which represents road transport operators conducting business in NSW.”
McMaster says that, as a registered industrial organisation, ARTIO NSW operates under rules approved under federal workplace law.
