Freightliner used the 2011 Brisbane Truck Show to unveil the ADR80/03-compliant version of the Argosy to the transport industry.

With a choice of Detroit Diesel DD15 or Cummins ISX 15-litre engines, the latest version of the Argosy is immediately distinguished from its predecessors courtesy of a cheese grater grille and a raised cab height.

Able to be configured as either a prime mover or rigid and equipped with four cab options including the 110″ (2.75 metres) raised roof sleeper for long distance operations, the Argosy retains its flat floor for ease of movement within the cab and sleeper.

Although full details will be released when it goes on sale in the final months of 2011, the Argosy will definitely be offered with Eaton’s Ultrashift automated transmission as well as swing out steps for both the driver and passenger.
