The VTA says ARENA joins a long list of speakers at the summit
The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has confirmed that the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has joined the line-up for the inaugural VTA Alternative Fuels Summit, being held at CMV Truck & Bus on Tuesday August 23.
ARENA Director of Business Development and Transactions Alex Grant will address summit delegates on the agency’s views on transport decarbonisation and current funding opportunities.
Grant leads ARENA’s transport and bioenergy portfolios, including the Bioenergy Roadmap and the Future Fuels Program.
He joins a line-up of speakers from government, academia, industry and vehicle manufacturers to lead an important conversation about the commercial transport industry’s role in the accelerating shift towards low and zero emissions in freight and logistics.
“ARENA was established in 2012 to support the global transition to net zero emissions through accelerating the pace of commercial innovation,” VTA CEO Peter Anderson says.
“With last week’s passage of legislation in parliament’s lower house, Australia is on a path to reduce carbon emissions by 43 per cent from 2005 levels by 2030.
“The work of ARENA to support projects and activity in the emissions-intense transport industry is more important than ever.”
Other speakers are drawn from event co-sponsors CMV Truck & Bus and Viva Energy Australia, as well as Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, Hyzon Motors, SEA Electric, GET Electric, Freight Victoria, Lochard Energy, VACC and Autonomous Transport Solutions. Victorian Minister for Energy and Environment Lily D’Ambrosio will formally open the summit with keynote address.
“I urge you to register for the Summit, which will equip you with essential information to make informed decisions about incorporating alternative fuels into your operation,” Anderson says.
