The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) has announced the date for its annual forum that will allow the nation’s top industry and government executives to tackle supply chain issues.
On November 27, the annual ALC forum and government dialogue will provide the opportunity to drill down and identify the critical steps needed to strengthen Australia’s freight and supply chain systems in 2026 and beyond.
The invite-only forum, brings together senior Commonwealth officials, and chief executives from Australia’s most influential supply chain logistics, freight transport, regulators and infrastructure developers.
It provides a unique platform to align industry and government priorities on productivity, resilience and decarbonisation and build on the new National Freight and Supply Chain Strategy (NFSCS) launched by federal transport minister Catherine King at the ALC Supply Chain Summit in August.
“At a time when the supply chain logistics sector faces pressure from workforce shortages, regulatory reform and decarbonisation, the dialogue will focus on the next level of solutions to deliver national outcomes,” ALC CEO Dr Hermione Parsons says.
“This is about government and industry working side by side to deliver a stronger, more connected and future-ready Australia. The NFSCS is an example of a great partnership between industry and government, the next step is about implementation and delivery.”
The 2025 dialogue will explore shared priorities including strengthening productivity and resilience, addressing workforce shortages, enabling the net zero transition and protecting freight corridors and land-use planning for future growth.
“The dialogue brings together the nation’s top policy minds and industry leaders to move beyond the written strategy – to define the practical steps we’ll take in 2026 to secure Australia’s freight future,” Parsons says.
