Angi Energy Systems boosts global leadership with two key alternative fuels appointments

US manufacturer Angi Energy Systems is focusing on alternative fuels with its latest key appointments

American manufacturer Angi Energy Systems has announced two new additions to its global leadership team in the alternative fuels areas.

Joel van Rensburg has been announced as the new president of alternative fuels while Danny Seals has been elevated to the role of general manager in the hydrogen sector.

Angi says the appointments of van Rensburg and Seals is evidence of the company’s focus on and investment into a full alternative fuels solutions suite to serve a variety of applications and provide full turnkey refuelling infrastructure to the global mobility sector.

Van Rensburg was previously general manager of hydrogen where he was focused on developing the essential partnerships and technologies needed to grow this vital part of the business.

In 2022, he spearheaded the launch of Angi’s new Hydrogen Business Unit, which was established to provide the technologies and services for a complete alternative fuelling platform solution.

As president of alternative fuels, van Rensburg will look to strengthen Angi’s alternative fuel solutions, encompassing hydrogen, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and Gasboy, the commercial and fleet refuelling solution. He will be building the foundations for the company’s strategic mission to accelerate smart, sustainable solutions for the road ahead.

“I am delighted to be appointed president of alternative fuels at such an exciting time in Angi’s nearly 40 years’ history,” van Rensburg says.

“Never have we seen such a rapid evolution in the global mobility sector, with widescale changing consumer demand driven by digital transformation and a growing focus on sustainable business.

“My team and I are looking forward to delivering truly best-in-class alternative fuel technologies spanning hardware, software and services to our valued customers around the world, as well as offering our expertise and advice on how to decarbonise road transportation and to maximise opportunities and move with the changing market trends”.

In his new role, van Rensburg will be leading a dedicated team focused on developing and delivering a range of solutions for a spectrum of alternative refuelling applications ranging from Light Duty to Heavy Duty Vehicles.

In addition, van Rensburg will also focus his attention on the continued development of Angi’s aftermarket services across the product suite and the development of software solutions for remote management and monitoring, in order to achieve industry leading equipment uptime targets for their expanding list of customers.

Danny Seals says:  “We are at the start of transport revolution as momentum towards alternative fuels and particularly hydrogen gathers pace.”

“The rollout of dispensing and refuelling solutions must keep pace with the development in hydrogen transport and Angi is well positioned to do this thanks to our decades of leadership in the fuel dispensing market.”
