Former DHL South East Asia CEO embarks on new role

Andries Retief has been appointed DHL Supply Chain's new CCO of EMEA in his latest step in 15-year journey with the global organisation

Former CEO of DHL Supply Chain South East Asia Andries Retief has taken a new role with the organisation, and has commenced his new role of CCO of the company’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.

Retief initially joined DHL in 2009 and has undertaken various leadership positions across its finance, operations, transport and country management sectors.

He has succeeded Leonard Aerts in the role and will report to DHL Supply Chain EMEA CEO Hendrik Venter.

Retief says he’s anticipating a flurry of activity early in his new role.

“We anticipate the peak period starting earlier this year where our e-commerce and omni-channel, and returns operations including aftermarket business, serve in full gear,” Retief says.

“The primary focus will be ensuring scalable capacity for our customers through our network of warehouses, transportation and value-added services to quickly accommodate fluctuating volumes.

“Our goal is to collaborate closely with our customers to develop sustainable supply chain strategies through our Lead Logistics Partner offering that allows businesses to confidently navigate the surge in demand during one of the most demanding times of the year.”
