Brisbane-based software startup Advanced Mobile Analytics Group (AMAG) has been acquired by Canadian company Transoft Solutions.
AMAG was founded by the University of Queensland’s commercialisation arm UniQuest in 2020 and uses real-time data to reduce road crashes and incidents, and to monitor infrastructure to improve road safety design.
Transoft develops specialised software solutions for transportation, aviation, civil infrastructure and operational professionals.
AMAG co-founder and CEO Dr Simon Washington says the acquisition by Transoft will enable his company to further progress its work on an international stage.
“AMAG is focused on delivering more efficient transport systems to communities around the world,” Washington says.
“The existing strengths of our people, products and services will be complemented by the capabilities of Transoft Solutions – a highly recognised brand in the industry with more than 200 staff members in 13 locations across the globe and a customer base of more than 50,000.”
Dr Washington will continue to work with his existing AMAG team and has been named Transoft’s Vice President of Safety and Traffic Operations.
Transoft CEO Daniel Shihundu has labelled the acquisition as an “excellent cultural fit”.
