In the face of challenging local climates, busy industries and growing supply chain needs, Allison Transmission will showcase three models dedicated to helping Australian fleets and businesses do their best work at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show.
The Indianapolis maker of fully automatic transmissions partners with many of the world’s leading truck brands to provide solutions for a wide range of applications. Allison will be at Stand 96 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 15-18.
“Having long dominated many of the hardworking market segments, Allison’s medium and heavy-duty transmissions continue to roll into local fleets seeking a solid, consistent performance,” Allison Transmission Australian sales manager Robert Cavagnino says.
“Providing continuous power and easily serviced transmissions, Allison’s fully automatics reduce headaches around driver shortages, provide quick take off in stop-start, city congestion and enable drivers engaged in precise tasks – such as pouring concrete or fighting fires – to focus on the job at hand.”
With solutions to suit a wide range of powertrains, Allison will showcase a cutaway model of its innovative 9-Speed transmission alongside its popular 3000 Series™ and 4000 Series™ models.
The 9-Speed is built on the tried and tested quality, reliability and durability of the Allison 2000 Series™ and features nine forward ranges and three overdrive ranges, offering users increased performance and improved fuel economy. Deep first range and closer ratio step in lower gear ranges offers both efficiency and power in frequent start-stop duty cycles. With a ratings capability of up to 380 hp, it is engineered to meet the demands of an array of commercial vehicle applications.
The 3000 Series can accommodate engines with power ratings up to 450 hp and offers torque capacities of up to 1,695 Nm. Engineered to meet the demands of various hard-working applications, these transmissions are regularly specified for vehicles engaged in distribution, refuse, utility services, fire and emergency, transit buses, construction, civil works and more.
The 4000 Series can accommodate engines with power ratings up to 800 hp and offers torque capacities of up to 3,200 Nm. The 4000 was specifically developed to meet the performance needs of heavy-duty vehicles that operate in particularly demanding applications, and is frequently applied in the construction, energy, mining and defence sectors.
“The power and benefits of the Allison range are well understood in this market and adoption only grows as work gets busier, drivers are in demand and productivity is paramount,” Cavagnino says.
“We understand there is an increased focus regarding fleet efficiency and considering alternative fuel options to reduce emissions and we’re ready to innovate alongside our OEM partners and customers to provide solutions as needed.”
