ALC chairman flags safety summit and industry economic report in busy schedule
The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) has outlined its major priorities for the year ahead and will launch a supply chain safety and compliance summit in August.
The outlook for the organisation was detailed by its Chairman, Don Telford, on the first day of its two day forum in Sydney.
The key issues are a nationally consistent regulatory framework, more work on chain of responsibility, the registration of its safety codes under the Heavy Vehicle National Law, progressing heavy vehicle pricing and investment urban planning improvements and a reduction in red tape.
Other moves for the year will include a new strategic plan “to implement a ‘step change’ for ALC and outlining our vision for the next three years and beyond”.
Along with holding a July parliamentary dinner in Canberra, the ALC intends to formulate a new report on the economic impact of the freight logistics industry and the key sectors of the economy that supports it.
