The ALC will focus on the supply chain and national freight issues
The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) has released the details of its forum event for this year, which will specialise on national freight and supply chain issues.
The forum, which brings together end to end supply chain expertise and global insights, will be held in Sydney on May 25.
ALC chair Philip Davies says the ALC is pleased to host the forum with a world-class line-up of industry leaders and speakers on supply chain management and national freight.
“This is an opportunity for senior industry leaders, policy makers, technology experts and innovators to exchange ideas and discuss the state-of-play in the sector,” Davies says.
“As we emerge from the challenges of the past few years, the freight, logistics and supply chain industry in Australia is re-sitting its priorities, with a renewed focus on efficiency, productivity, safety, the resilience of supply chain systems and making a steep change in emissions reduction.”
The forum will include the likes of Inland Rail CEO Rebecca Pickering, Infrastructure Australia CEO Romily Madew, Toll Group managing director Thomas Knusden, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Andrew McKellar and Tech Council of Australia CEO Kate Pounder.
ALC CEO Brad Williams is looking forward to focusing on preparing for the immensity of the growing freight task.

“As leaders in Australia’s end to end supply chain industry, we are at a critical juncture and the importance of what we do has probably never been so visible or so important,” Williams says.
Australian’s urban freight task alone is expected to grow by 60 per cent by 2040 and our urban infrastructure is already groaning under the weight of capacity constraints.”
Williams says he is excited to look at what lies ahead at the upcoming forum, saying attendees have a unique opportunity to discover and drive policy, structural change and responses to the growing needs of the nation.
